Amsterdam fenced off public space

Public space is public, so for everyone. But in practice that appears not to be the case. Time and again, Favas.net notices fenced off urban spaces. Places are closed off to those who, for whatever reason, rely on that public space. People without an address, people without shelter, and so on. This time we spotted a well-known place under a viaduct in the centre of Amsterdam. People have been staying here for years. But not anymore, because recently the municipality has fenced off the area and declared it ‘no entry’ (‘verboden toegang’).
