An army of Venus sculptures
This summer, new metro lines will open in the Parisian metropolis. The intention is that due to the new metro system the ring outside ‘Paris Ville’ (including, for example, the municipality of Saint Denis) will become better accessible and will truly become part of a future inclusive city. To underline the diversity and richness of the Île-de-France region artist Prune Nourry designed an army of 108 Venus-like sculptures for the Saint-Denis-Pleyel station. In the heart of the new station these Venuses, inspired by the first representations of women in the Paleolithic, will create a breathtaking image. Favas.net observed three Venus sculpture examples at the exhibition ‘Métro! Le Grand Paris en mouvement’ at the ‘Cité de l’Architecture et du Patrimoine’ in Paris.
