Favela Penha suffers police violence

Since the arrival of Bolsonaro as president of Brazil, police violence in the favelas has increased considerably. Recently local sources in the Penha favela reported completely derailed interventions by the police. Local activists in Penha confirm the fight of the police against local drug gangs degenerates into violence against local youth. Instead of educating, teaching, and supporting youngsters, they only are beaten or even murdered. The violence in Penha (and other favelas) already started March 2018 when military entered Penha.
