Urban art in Metz
Urban art represents societal codes. This month Favas.net stumbled upon urban art in the city of Metz (France). In the northwestern suburb (Metz-Patrotte), a large-scale mural was painted on the high-rise buildings (Rue Théodore de Gargan) a few years ago. With the image of the twin sisters Jessica and Magali, the work represents the social codes of today’s society – according to the city of Metz at the time – ‘diversity, technology, new languages, and the coexistence of individuals’. The work was created in 2019 by Spanish artist Fabio Dourone, who, together with his colleague Elodie Arshak, has created similar murals in 66 cities worldwide.
