Street art through craftsmanship

Favas.net values craftsmanship. This month we unexpectedly stumbled upon a street art work that radiates craftsmanship and pleasure. On the Houthavenkade, in the new Amsterdam district of Houthavens, a canal scene is depicted with paving stones. The work of art was created by Manolito van Bommel and Justen Groot, two apprentice pavers from a Dutch vocational training college (SPG Noord-Holland). During a paving championship, they received a golden paver’s hammer as a symbolic prize (July 2023). As an applied prize, their winning decorative paving was given a permanent place in public space in Amsterdam.
